Moore Family House Build Sponsored by The Episcopal Convocation

About This Campaign

This is a new construction build for the Moore Family, which is sponsored by the Episcopal Convocation. Volunteers are utilized every Thursday, Friday & Saturday from 8am-3pm with a 30 minute lunch break around 11:30am.  Volunteers must be a minimum of 14 years old to be on the construction site. 

On Site Provisions: 
  • Water, portable toilets, construction materials,hard hats, tools and work supervision are provided;
  • Lunch, snacks or transportation are not provided;
  • Clothing must be appropriate for construction activities. Do not wear open-toed shoes or sandals, large earrings or over-sized clothing;
  • Habitat reserves the right to remove any volunteer from the work site if, in the opinion of a Habitat staff member, the volunteer acts in a manner that creates risk of injury or harm to that volunteer or others.

Helpful info:
With any of our projects, no prior construction experience or knowledge is necessary. Habitat Construction Site Supervisors will be on site leading and instructing volunteers. They’ll teach you everything you need to know; it really is a lot of fun! Tools are provided, but feel free to bring your own.

Family Bio:
Shawnkitta was born in Birmingham at Brookwood Medical Center. After the untimely death of her parents when she was 6 years old she lived with her grandmother. Upon high school graduation, she worked at AGC Automotive where she has worked for last 11 years. She and her 3 children are members at Green Chapel Baptist Church in Montevallo. 

Tamardreon enjoys basketball, football, and track. Kamardre likes to fish at Oak Mountain State Park and enjoys playing basketball, football, and baseball. Makiyha sings in the choir, acts in plays, loves to twirl baton, and enjoys cheerleading.

“My kids and I would like to say thank you from the bottom of our hearts,” says Shawnkitta. “We are so excited to start this new journey!”
