About This Campaign
Tanquenekia Dunning was born and raised Birmingham. She is oldest of three siblings and is lovingly called ‘Tan’ by family and friends.
Tan graduated from A.H. Parker High School and earned an Associate degree in Early Childhood Education from Lawson Community College. Tan is working toward completing her BA degree in Early Childhood Education at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB).
Tan has worked as a teacher with Jefferson County Committee for Economic Opportunity (JCCEO) for 6 years. She and her family attend Mount Hebron Baptist Church where she serves as a youth counselor and choir member.
Tan explains that her home will be an “investment in the community” and looks forward to taking care of her new home, and neighbors. She believes owning a home will give a sense of stability to her daughter, Kelsi, 5.
